Last of Us Season 2 Ending Explained: Did Abby Pull Trigger on Ellie? Find Out
With explosive events that happened in The Last of Us season 2, know if Abby shot Ellie in the finale.

In the last moments of The Last of Us season 2, Ellie successfully tracks down Abby's group to a seaside aquarium. She reunites there with Tommy and Jesse. Back in Ellie and Dina’s makeshift cinema base, Ellie succeeds in making amends with Jesse.
But the two are interrupted by a certain sound in the lobby. The duo rushes through, during which Abby shoots Jesse. This marked the first time Ellie had seen Abby since she ended Joel’s life.
In the finale, Abyy stands over Tommy, who is injured, with her gun pointed at him. She threatens to kill Jim as well, unless Ellie drops her weapon and comes out of hiding. Then Abby says, “I let you live. And you wasted it.”
As soon as Abby raises her gun, the camera cuts to Ellie saying, “No, no, no!” and the gunshot goes off at the exact moment, with the screen going black.
But the episode carries on with taking the audience three days earlier to Seattle: Day One. We see Abby, who is summoned by the Washington Liberation Front’s Manny to go and see Issac.
As Abby walks through the corridor and goes on the balcony overlooking the inside of a stadium settlement, which is a WLF base in Seattle.
Now the question remains: Did Abby really pull the trigger on Ellie? As of now, it is very hard to come to that conclusion because as soon as the gunshot is heard, the scene ends without any clarity.
But it seems that it is unlikely that Abby will die because a major character, Joel, has already bid adieu to the show. This makes the possibility of killing another main character less likely.
With the season ending, all the audience can do is be patient and wait for the next season to drop to really find out if Ellie dies or not and what happens after that gunshot.
